Viper Niza Racing to mount assault In International & Regional GT Sports Car Racing
Viper Niza Racing today announced its partnership with Aston Martin Racing Asia, which will see the Malaysian owned and based team arm itself with the latest generation and race-winning Vantage GT3 and GT4 cars to spearhead its regional and international racing campaign in the GT Sports Car class.
As an Aston Martin Racing Asia partner team, Viper Niza Racing will also manage and provide services for customer racing programmes led by principal and driver Douglas Khoo as well as legendary endurance racing partner Dominic Ang.
Notably, the Vantage GT3 and GT4 cars are both based on Aston Martin Racing's latest generation 4-litre V8 twin turbo Vantage. Under the hood, the Vantage GT3 produces more than 536 hp (400 kW) and 700 Nm of torque which rides on 18-inch tyres and carries a 120 litre-fuel unit.
The Vantage GT3 is a full-blown race car designed from the ground up and replaces Aston Martin’s most successful customer car the V12 Vantage GT3 offering the latest in race car technology, embracing all the experiences from years of engineering and competing in international sports car racing.
‘’The Vantage GT 3 will be shipped out in order to arrive in time for the Singapore F1 Grand Prix on October 1 to 2 where it will be its debut in the TSS (Thailand Super Series) support race which is being held in Singapore for the first time’’ as stated by Team Owner, Principal and Driver of Viper Niza Racing Team, Douglas Khoo in a press statement.
Meanwhile, the Vantage GT4 has a power output above 469hp (350 kW) and a torque of more than 550 Nm. The sports car is created based on Aston Martin's standard production Vantage models and is designed with a direct and hard-edged race car with competitive package, advanced aerodynamics, and state-of-the-art safety features.
Viper Niza Racing is recognized for being the first all-Malaysian team to compete in the Road To Le Mans Race in 2019, a precursor to the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans, driving its outgoing Nissan powered Ligier JS P3 LMP3 race car.
