Following the 15th General Election, six roadblocks were placed around the Istana Negara to protect public safety and order (GE-15). According to Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Azmi Abu Kassim, these six roadblocks have a total of 632 officers and members.
He also added that a total of 23 roadblocks were carried out in Kuala Lumpur, with a force of 104 officers and 1,336 people. More than that, six of such barriers are stationed around Istana Negara.
Aside that, Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Officer further cautioned the people to follow the officer's directions and any improper activities, stern action will be taken in accordance with the law.
The story follows when Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) began deploying roadblocks in strategic sites across the country on a 24-hour basis last Tuesday.
Inspector General of Police, Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani, was reported saying that the action was part of the PDRM's attempts to prevent crime by boosting the level of omnipresence to protect public safety and order.
