For the first week of December fuel price update cycle (1st to 7th December 2022), the Ministry Of Finance (MOF) has announced a reduction in RON97 fuel price by 10cents. The retail price for RON97 petrol stands at RM3.85 now compared to RM3.95 for the previous few weeks.

As for RON95, the price remains at RM2.05 per litre while the retail price of diesel too stays at RM2.15 per litre.

The price adjustment is made based on the Automatic Pricing Mechanism formula. However, to protect consumers from the effects of increasing real price of oil in the global market, the Government locks the retail price of RON95 petrol at a ceiling price of RM2.05 per litre and diesel at RM2.15 per litre, considering the real market price of both fuel has increased above the ceiling price.
