AC Schnitzer Builds BMW i4 Police Car

Specialist BMW tuning house AC Schnitzer is no stranger to the all-electric BMW i4 fast-back saloon. In fact, the Aachen-based firm showed off a tasty tuning package for said Bimmer not too long ago, which looked pretty good.

Now, the tuning firm has taken things a step further by building a prototype police car version of which. Similar to the i4 tuning package AC Schnitzer showed off prior, this G26-based i4 M50 Gran Coupe model this build underpins harnesses much of said package’s features and hardware.

These include elements like a front spoiler, splitter, and side wings, followed by the rear’s roof spoiler, bootlid spoiler, and rear side wings. Completing the look are AC Schnitzer's rear skirt protection film and design package on the sides – two elements per side.

This i4 also sits 20-25 MM lower than stock thanks to the adoption of AC Schnitzer’s lowering springs. Completing its stance are a set of AC Schnitzer 20-inch AC4 Flow Forming wheels dressed in a two-tone Silver/Black finish, and they’re wrapped in Hankook Ventus S1 Evo 3 tyres.

Inside, AC Schnitzer have primed this police-spec i4 with a number of tasty upgrades too. Highlights include snazzy aluminium-finished pedals and footrest, "Black Line" i-Drive system controller cover, and keyholder.

This being a police car, it also comes brimmed with a number of law enforcement-specific gear such as specially made signalling system (police lights) from Hella, Foilatec foil decor and the Securlux safety foil in the side windows.

Notably, this police car built by AC Schnitzer also stands as part of the firm’s ‘Tune It! Safe!’ initiative that promotes safe, regulation-compliant tuning. Said campaign has drawn attention for the past 17 years in Germany where it demonstrates what’s possible in tuning without breaking any traffic licensing laws.

What do you folks think of this all-electric (EV) police car by AC Schnitzer, then? Hit the comments section below with your thoughts…
