The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has predicted heavy rain in several regions across the country from tomorrow to Monday.

MetMalaysia stated in a statement that this is due to strong easterly winds from the western Pacific region.

"Meanwhile, on December 2, a low-pressure weather system is forecast to form over the South China Sea.

"From December 3 to 4, the system is expected to proceed west across the Malaysia-Thailand border into the Andaman Sea, where it may strengthen into rain.

"Huge waves and strong winds are also forecast to hit the coast as well as the waterways of Kelantan and Terengganu. This is a risky circumstance for any beach or sea activities "It stated.

From December 1 to 4, MetMalaysia has also issued a continuous rain warning for eastern Sabah, the east coast, and the northern Peninsula.

"People in affected areas are advised to exercise caution and prepare for any emergency.

"MetMalaysia continuously monitors and updates the development of this system via its website, myCuaca smartphone application, and social media channels.

"For further information, please contact the MetMalaysia hotline at 1-300-22-1638."
