First 100 Units of the BYD Atto 3 Delivered to Customers in Malaysia
Sime Darby Motors (SDM) has commenced the deliveries for the all-new BYD Atto 3 in Malaysia, with the first 100 units being handed to customers within a month after its official debut in our country.
As part of the 500 units enroute to our shoreline, the first 100 BYD Atto 3s were handed to its rightful owners in a special handover event organised by SDM.
Speaking during said event is SDM’s Managing Director of Retail and Distribution Jeffrey Gan, who said, “With the delivery of the first BYD ATTO 3 vehicles to the Malaysian market, we look forward to maintaining our momentum with more units currently enroute and slated to reach Malaysia very soon.”
The newly-launched BYD Atto 3 turned out to be quite a big hit amongst local EV-goers and regular folks alike, thanks to its relatively affordable price and quite impressive performance and range numbers that will alleviate any range anxieties from its users. Coming in two variants, the lower-spec Atto 3 Standard Range is juiced by a 49.92-kWh battery pack that allows for a maximum travel range of 410 KM.
On the other hand, the top-spec Atto 3 Extended Range harnesses a bigger 60.48-kWh battery pack that grants it a claimed travel range of up to 480 KM. Both variants are powered by the same front-mounted single motor setup that delivers 201 HP and 310 NM, bestowing the Atto 3 with a 0-100 KM/H sprint finish in 7.3 seconds.
Built on a 400-volt architecture, the Atto 3 supports both AC charging at 7 kW rate, as well as DC fast charging at 70 kW for the Standard Range and up to 80 kW for the Extended Range model. At its maximum 80 kW rate, the Atto 3 only takes about 45 minutes to charge from 0% to 80%.
Aside from the bigger battery pack, the range-topping Atto 3 also comes with a slew of additional parts, including 18-inch wheels and a panoramic sunroof, aside from other standard amenities both variants come with. Both variants are also primed with a full-swing of advanced drivers assistance system (ADAS) which includes features like Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Blind Spot Monitor (BSM), and many more.
The BYD Atto 3 starts at RM149,800 for the Standard Range, and can go up to RM167,800 for the range-topping Extended Range variant. For that amount of money, customers will also get a six-year or 150,000 KM vehicle warranty, as well as an additional eight-year or 150,000 KM warranty for its battery pack and other EV-related parts like the electric motor, motor controller, DC assembly, and more.
