Isuzu Malaysia reported a record-breaking 9,211 units of the Isuzu D-Max sold in 2022, eclipsing the previous record of 6480 pick-up trucks sold in 2016. This impressive sales is partially spurred by the huge interest in the 1.9-litre models which asides provides savings in roadtax also proves to be unbelievably light on running costs while being a heavyweight when it comes to design, features, performance and safety.

The 1.9-litre variants make up 79% of the total sales number especially in the Peninsular Malaysia where 55% of these trucks were sold to.

For Isuzu, its flagship X-Terrain variant managed to slot itself into the premium lifestyle segment with 877 units being delivered to customers who were attracted to the model's handsome design, invitingly-premium interior, exemplary performance and cutting-edge safety features.

Isuzu Malaysia’s Chief Executive Officer Shunsuke Okazoe says, “Despite facing stock limitations from the factory, the third-generation Isuzu D-Max achieved extraordinary heights in terms of market penetration. Thanks to its exceptional design and future-looking features, the latest generation Isuzu D-Max brings new levels of driving comfort and performance without losing any inherent Isuzu family traits. It is a true representation of a modern day pick-up truck.”

This third generation offering from Isuzu not only impressed the members of the automotive media, but also was awarded the title ‘Pick-up Truck of the Year’. Furthermore, the Isuzu D-Max boasts the top ASEAN ANCAP 5-star safety rating and is offered with a class leading 7-year unlimited mileage warranty.

“Our focus for this year will be to ensure that our customer experience remains positive as we aim to reduce the delivery times and to enhance our network. I wish to thank all our customers for their support and patience and also our partners who have helped us rise to the top despite the challenges faced in the supply of vehicles,” said Chief Operating Officer Kenkichi Sogo.

The popular Isuzu D-Max is offered in Malaysia in various variants and trims starting with the highly versatile Single Cab to the exceptionally economical 4x2 Automatic Double Cab, 4x4 models and the game-changing X-Terrain models. All Isuzu trucks are positioned across a spectrum to meet every customer's needs.
