RM21.1 Million additional allocation has been approved by the Selangor state government for the Batang Kali slope rehabilitation works following last month's fatal landslide reported. This was announced by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari earlier today. He also added that the additional allocation had been proposed by the Public Works Department (JKR).

The Batang Kali-Genting Highlands stretch was closed after the major landslide on 16 Dec which resulted in the death of 30 holiday goers at the Father’s Organic Farm samping side along the Batang Kali Stretch. The stretch which was to be closed for the entire year for repair works however has been opened with conditions to facilitate those who are working in Genting.

For everyone else they are advised to use the alternative route which is much safer. The alternative routes are Jalan Negeri B23 Laluan Ulu Yam - Batu Caves and Jalan Persekutuan FT001, Laluan Kuala Lumpur - Ipoh.
