Local electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions and service provider ChargeSini saw its network expanded earlier today as it officially opened two charging stations located at the Terminal 1 shopping centre in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan.

Present to launch these chargers earlier today were Negeri Sembilan State Executive Council (EXCO) member YB Teo Kok Seong, Managing Director of ChargeSini James Goh, as well as Malaysian Electric Vehicle Owners Club (MyEVOC) President Datuk Shahrol Halmi.

The new ChargeSini EV chargers at Terminal 1 Seremban can facilitate plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) and both full- (EVs) and battery electric vehicles (BEVs).

The new chargers installed at Terminal 1 Seremban are 22 kW AC type chargers which can be accessed via the ChargeSini smartphone app.

Installed at Seremban’s Terminal 1 were two units of ChargeSini’s 22 kW AC chargers, each accompanied with parking barriers in their allocated bays. Notably, these now stand as the first open-to-public and shopping-mall based EV chargers in Negeri Sembilan state.

Additionally, besides full- (EVs) and battery electric vehicles (BEVs), these devices are compatible with both plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) as well. Users can access these new chargers at Seremban’s Terminal 1 using the ChargeSini App that’s available on both the Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android).

“On behalf of the state government, we welcome ChargeSini to invest and set up their facilities in Negeri Sembilan. We also hope to see ChargeSini enter discussions with the Seremban city Council (MBS) as well as our other local councils (PBT) in the state to install more facilities as such,” said YB Teo after officially launching the chargers at Terminal 1 today.

The N. Sembilan EXCO member continued further in noting that certain popular travel spots in the state such as Port Dickson could capitalise on EV charging infrastructures such as those provided by ChargeSini in bolstering its tourism industry further as well.

“It’s very good that ChargeSini is taking the effort to expand beyond the Klang Valley. Some cities and towns outside of which really need to accelerate the deployment of EV charging infrastructure. With these charging infrastructures spreading beyond the Klang Valley, we think consumer confidence will increase and, hopefully, this would also spur more deployment of facilities, as well as EV adoption,” adds MyEVOC President Datuk Shahrol.

Besides Terminal 1, ChargeSini MD James Goh revealed that up to 50 more ChargeSini stations are being planned in both Seremban and the greater Negeri Sembilan state. The firm is poised to open similar charging stations at the Seremban Gateway shopping mall next before venturing into tourist spots, hotels, restaurants, and condominiums within the state.

“This year, ChargeSini plans to build 500 to 1,000 EV stations across Malaysia. We hope that those who are interested can contact us to set up EV charging stations at their premises. Together we can build and improve the EV charging facility and network in Malaysia,” said Goh today upon launching his firm’s latest facility in Seremban.
