- New Denza N7 Crossover Teased Ahead Of Debut
BYD is poised to reveal the production version of its new Denza N7 this year. In light of this, the Chinese automaker has released a new teaser for the model online, which shows off its blend of sportiness and futuristic design features.
Through this latest teaser, BYD gives a clear look at the high-end SUV. Like the Inception Concept, it measures 4.9 metres in length, with a 2.9-mm wheelbase.
Other features included a skewed D-pillar, five-spoke rims, sporty roof spoiler, flush door handles, Lamborghini-inspired LED headlamps, as well as windowline and rear shoulders akin to the Ford Mustang Mach-E.
Aside from that, the luxury SUV has a full-width Porsche-inspired taillight design plus sporty bumper-mounted DRLs that merge with LiDAR sensors and cameras. Aptly, the latter indicate various high tech features including autonomous driving functions possibly equipped in it.
On board, the Denza N7’s interior space is primed with a wide infotainment screen sporting a Face ID sensor on a forward-facing pillar panel. However, since camera-mirrors are still illegal in China, their presence in the final production version remains to be seen.
As for the technical details, there’s not much available though reputable sources online indicate that the footprint of the production model will likely be based on BYD’s e-platform 3.0. Sources also add that both hybrid and fully electric powertrains will be available, as will the choices between rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD).
It appears almost certain powertrains will include a DM-i Hybrid type with outputs ranging between 296 HP to 401 HP, as well as a full electric type offering between 308 HP to 369 HP. The Denza N7’s electrified status is confirmed through the presence of charging ports visible on both sides in these latest teaser shots.
As for price, the car will be estimated to command US$57,504 (RM259,703.20) in order to compete with ICE cars in the same segment. Beyond this, there’s little else to garner, though we won’t have long to wait until its official debut, which is reportedly slated for the third quarter (Q3) this year.
