Sime Darby Motors Opens 20,000sqf Centralised Body & Paint Centre In Penang

Sime Darby Motors has officially opened its first Centralised Body & Paint Centre in Jalan Sungai Pinang, Penang, as part of its commitment to offering top-notch service quality to consumers in the northern region for brands under the Sime Darby Motors umbrella namely BMW, MINI, Motorrad, BYD, Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover, Ford, and Hyundai.

The new RM3 Million facility which is around 20,000 square feet, is outfitted with cutting-edge technology and equipment. It would house four mechanical bays with hoists, one heavy-duty bay (body repairs), one dry-sanding bay, one preparation bay, and one spray booth. The body and paint centre is able to service and repair up to 80 vehicles per month.

According to Jeffrey Gan, Managing Director of Sime Darby Motors, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong & Macau, “With this new facility, workflow for repairs and restoration works will be streamlined for all Sime Darby Motors’ brands while ensuring performed services adhere to the brands’ discerning quality standards. The new workflow will also accelerate repairs and restoration works, thereby reducing downtime for our customers.”

He further added that, “Customers can be assured of good quality service for all their repair and restoration needs. Services will range from providing basic service repair work, accident repairs and paint work, to preparing the necessary documents needed for insurance claims.”

He goes on to emphasise that the facility would be run by well-trained specialists who will ensure that all repairs and maintenance are performed according to set guidelines from the principals of the various brands under Sime Darby Motors.
