Notably, the tyre failure rate for the entire month of May was 1.1%.

“Adhering to these standards not only helps safeguard the safety of vehicle owners and other road users, but also contributes significantly to reducing road accidents,” it says.

In an industry long dominated by men, 39-year-old Irzunika Idris from Batu Gajah has been making a living as a<a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.carz.com.my/2024/07/volvo-trucks-malaysia-miros-hosts-advanced-driver-development-programme" target="_blank" style=""> trailer driver</a> for the past five years, ever since becoming a single mother of three.
When asked why she chose such a demanding and unconventional path, Irzunika shared that she genuinely enjoys the work and most importantly, she needs to support her children.

Her passion for driving began early, inspired by her late father who was also a lorry driver. Watching him work sparked a lifelong ambition to follow in his footsteps, even though she knew it wouldn’t be an easy road.

From June 16 onwards, this service will include new routes such as MRT Kwasa Sentral – Subang Bestari/Subang Skypark Terminal, MRT Semantan – Menara DBKL, MRT Metro Prima – Taman Beringin, MRT Putrajaya Sentral – Presint 1, and MRT Cyberjaya City Centre – Cyberjaya.Unlike the previous existing routes, these new ones are not located within the <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.carz.com.my/2025/05/prasarana-aims-for-40-public-transit-ridership-by-2030" target="_blank">Prasarana</a> LRT and MRT station network, in a bid to broaden its last-mile transportation service to more users in Klang Valley.<img src="https://static-content-live.caricarz.com/media_library/post/18017/15507002/conversions/RapidKL-OnDemand-Van-(2)-full_normal.jpg" data-media-id="15507002" alt="RapidKL-OnDemand-Van-(2).jpg" style="width: 50%;"><img src="https://static-content-live.caricarz.com/media_library/post/18017/15507003/conversions/RapidKL-OnDemand-Van-(3)-full_normal.jpg" style="width: 50%;" data-media-id="15507003" alt="RapidKL-OnDemand-Van-(3).jpg"> To accommodate this expansion, a total of 17 vans will be used in these five new zones, where prospective customers can book a ride using the Rapid On-Demand mobile app. And just like other Rapid On-Demand services, the fare starts at RM1 per ride, and payments can be made using the Rapid KL’s My50/MyCity/Pas Famili passes, Touch n Go cards, MyRapid concession cards, OKU Smile pass, and many more.With these five new zones, the Rapid KL On-Demand service now covers a total of 60 zones throughout the Klang Valley area, with 162 vans dispatched since its inception back in Jan 2024. On top of that, a total of 16 zones with 46 vans are available within the MRT Kajang and Putrajaya lines alone.<img src="https://static-content-live.caricarz.com/media_library/post/18017/15507005/conversions/MOT-AnthonyLoke-RapidKL-OnDemand-full_normal.jpg" style="width: 100%;" data-media-id="15507005" alt="MOT-AnthonyLoke-RapidKL-OnDemand.jpg"> <h6 style="text-align: center; ">Transport Minister YB Anthony Loke and Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah posed with the Rapid KL On-Demand vans.</h6>Prior to this expansion, <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.carz.com.my/2025/06/loke-kejara-system-a-failure-major-revamp-coming" target="_blank">transport ministry Anthony Loke</a> previously announced that Prasarana will <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.carz.com.my/2024/08/300-new-drt-vans-will-operate-from-dec-till-june-2025" target="_blank">introduce 300 more vans</a> for the Rapid KL On-Demand services as an answer to the growing demand for this first-mile, last-mile transportation solution.

The Rapid KL On-Demand service has been expanded to five new zones, including Cyberjaya and Putrajaya.
