- 2024 Kia Picanto Facelift Leaks Online, Looks Angrier Now
Say hello to the 2024 Kia Picanto facelift!
The 2024 Kia Picanto facelift has leaked online ahead of its official debut slated for later this month. Shown in the leaked images is the high-specced GT-Line guise, and it shows the Korean marque smallest offering getting plenty of exterior refreshments inspired by its bigger models.
The most obvious change seen is the front fascia, which now sports an angrier look, a la the Kia EV9 electric crossover SUV, especially with the arrangement of its all-LED forward lighting array. We can also see a more squared front end with a flatter face and a hood that appears slightly taller than before.
New vertically-stacked headlights are similar to those seen on the Kia EV9 electric crossover SUV.
The EV9-inspired vertical headlight stacking also appears to be connected by a light bar mounted in between Kia’s new-style logo and grille. Also eye-catching here are the snazzy two-tone alloy wheels this face-lifted model in range-topping GT-Line guise sports.
At the rear, the latest facelift also sees new taillights plus faux rear diffuser. Also note the snazzier new two-tone alloy wheels.
At the rear, we can see that the taillights have been redesigned, and they’re also connected by a lightbar that runs across the entire tailgate. The new lighting array does bring forth redesigned hatch and bumper, the latter even sporting a set of faux diffuser that’s probably more for show rather than actual aero.
Apart from the new digital meter display, seems little else has changed on board.
The leaked set of images only shows one snap of the refreshed cabin. One very clear revision here is the adoption of a redesigned digital instrument display panel, though this might be reserved for higher-end guises like the GT-Line only. Apart from that, it appears little else has changed on board.
This being a mid-cycle refresh, we can expect little to no mechanical changes underneath its now prettier – and angrier – skin. Expect the model to continue being primed with the same 1.0-litre drivetrains as before that offer up between 66 HP and 99 HP.
By restyling its smallest – and most affordable – offering with its latest design touches, Kia has brought its Picanto supermini more aligned with its current crop of models like the Sportage, Niro, and EV9. This, in turn, should see it stand as a very attractive offering in segment next to its also recently refreshed Hyundai i10 cousin.
Pre-facelift Kia Picanto GT-Line offered by previous distributors Naza Kia and priced then
at RM59,888.
Locally, it’s not clear if new brand custodians Dinamikjaya Motors (Bermaz Auto Malaysia) will offer this face-lifted 2024MY version of this Kia supermini. The pre-facelift model was offered previously by then distributors Naza Kia Sdn Bhd, garnering moderate success plus a sizeable owners community and loyal fanbase.
Back then, Naza Kia retailed the pre-facelift Picanto in base EX guise at RM49,888. The firm later introduced the GT Line guise which commanded a RM10,000 premium over said base variant at RM59,888.
