Puspakom Sdn Bhd (Puspakom) has launched the Puspakom Approved Customer Representative (PAR) programme to combat the participation of middlemen in car inspection issues. This effort intends to ensure that all company operations are carried out in a transparent, professional, and lawful manner.
According to Shukor Ismail, CEO of Puspakom, PAR is an endeavour to establish a positive, transparent, and ethical atmosphere for individuals who interact with the premises. He explained that many Puspakom customers use "runners" for their car inspection procedures on the premises. However, there are intermediaries who manipulate the process, charge exorbitant service costs, and mislead customers.

As a result, customers have complained about Puspakom's lack of transparency, which has harmed the company's reputation. The PAR system was implemented to solve these concerns and the unscrupulous practices of a few middlemen. In partnership with the police, Puspakom will undertake background checks on all runners, and those who pass will be enrolled as members.
Shukor stressed that the programme is built on integrity, transparency, and trust, and that it attempts to build peace between consumers, agents, and vehicle handlers, as well as Puspakom. He added, however, that Puspakom continues to welcome the general public to attend their inspection centres, and that this initiative is not intended to limit their rights as visitors.

The introduction of the PAR service, we think, shows Puspakom stepping up their game in response to the government's recent announcement that the Puspakom services would be offered up to other parties, abolishing Puspakom's exclusivity after its contract expires on August 31, 2024.
Below are the list of PAR service providers nationwide that is approved by Puspakom by state:
