A sinkhole caused a part of the bridge on Jalan Forest City-Lebuh Tanjung Pelepas, near Iskandar Puteri, to collapse yesterday. The Iskandar Puteri Fire and Rescue Station responded quickly, with a crew of seven firefighters arriving at the location at 2 p.m. after receiving a report.

When the team confirmed that a 25-metre section of the road and bridge had collapsed. Fortunately, no injuries were recorded. The firefighters carefully assessed the area and, once it was determined to be safe, turned the subject over to the police.

Country Garden Pacificview Sdn Bhd, the Forest City project's management, made a statement in response to the incident, stating that its staff and technical personnel were present at the spot to take appropriate action. They highlighted their commitment to safety and promised to thoroughly check the entire bridge. The corporation also promised complete cooperation with government agencies to ensure user safety.

In light of the road collapse, Forest City's management plans to build a one-kilometre alternative road as a short-term remedy. Construction began immediately and is scheduled to be completed within 48 hours on July 26. The goal of this new road is to give vehicles an alternate route and to ensure seamless transit in the impacted area.
