Chinese tech giant Xiaomi, best know for making smartphones and a variety of lifestyle electronics, is set to the enter the electric vehicles (EVs) space soon. Based on the concept images we’ve seen prior, the upcoming Xiaomi MS11 EV certainly has high ambitions.
Now, it seems details surrounding its battery have leaked on the Chinese internet and, unsurprisingly, said data holds exciting promise. For starters, the MS11 is reportedly set to harness a ternary type (NMC) battery pack that boasts a sizeable 101 kWh capacity.
Details reported by China-based sources indicate that the pack itself has a 139 Ah capacity and can reach voltages of up to 726.7 V. With a claimed weight of 642 KG, the energy density is estimated to be at around 157 Wh/G, though this appears to be rather ‘average’ figures amongst lots of batteries sources say.
Nevertheless, this new development marks a shift from Xiaomi which reportedly intended to adopt a CATL-made battery type for the MS11, but perhaps its less than ideal weight prompted Xiaomi to reconsider. Perhaps the move stems from the next set of facts reported by the same sources in China.

With this battery tech, the Xiaomi MS11 in long-rage version will reportedly deliver up to 800 KM in range, likely through the rear-wheel-drive (RWD) variant. As for the all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant, the same battery is set to offer anywhere between 600 and 650 KM instead.
Naturally, Xiaomi has kept mum about the MS11’s development, but sources in China further indicate that the this EV saloon will enter China’s market next year. The firm has stated its intent to manufacture cars on its own prior, but reports suggests that the BAIC Group will assist and supply some exterior parts.
Moreover, the Xiaomi MS11 will also reportedly come equipped with a LiDAR sensor – a la the Volvo EX90 – and the Qualcomm 8295 chip. As for price, sources speculates that the MS11 will be tagged between RMB260,000 and RMB350,000 – approximately between RM165,260 and RM222,465 – when launched.
