- Gallery: Green Mobility Leads EVM Asia 2023 Expo Bill Once More

As you can probably guess, CariCarz.com were on ground at this year’s edition of the International EV, Mobility Technology, Auto Parts and Component Expo 2023 (EVM Asia 2023) that’s taking place this week at MITEC, KL from Tuesday, 19 Sept, to Thursday, 21 Sept.
Like past editions, this year’s show runs concurrently alongside the Smart Nation Expo 2023, which stands as one of the region’s largest tech expo centred on 5G, Smart City, IR4.0, Web 4.0, Emerging Applications and Solutions.
Aptly, our interest here leans heavily on the mobility side of things. Unsurprisingly, this year’s running of EVM Asia 2023 continues to see zero emissions and electrified mobility solutions taking centre stage, evident through the increased number of vendors displaying tech and services related to which.
Reflecting the region’s recent sales boom for Electric Vehicles (EVs), a healthy number of EV charging solutions, along with tech and services related to which, were on show. Equally varied were the entities present on this front, both big and small, as well as both the established and new emerging players.
Besides the EQS SUV, ABB's display featured a preview of its upcoming consumer-grade AC wallbox EV chargers that are poised to enter the market.
Emerging EV home charging solutions provider Kineta also showcased a range of consumer-grade AC wallbox EV chargers, all sporting friendly aesthetics too.
Amongst them here were powerhouses such as ABB Malaysia Sdn Bhd which, as you probably know by now, created quite the buzz by having the still not launched Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV on display. This, along with a BMW iX, were complements to the firm’s signature DC charging stations showcased.
That aside, ABB Malaysia also previewed its upcoming range of consumer-grade home AC charging wallboxes that feature stylish new aesthetics. However, these were arguably seconded by what we saw on show by Sime Darby-owned EV home charging solutions provider Kineta.
Amongst the EVs we found on display during EVM Asia 2023 included the BYD Atto 3 and new Dolphin, as well as the recently launched Audi e-tron GT, both showcased by dealers.
Emerging green tech and EV infrastructure accelerators Yinson GreenTech were present at EVM Asia 2023 too, using the show to announce its latest partnership with CelcomDigi and showcase its new rydeEV initiative too.
Perhaps this explains the seemingly odd appearances of an Audi e-tron GT on display by dealers Goh Brothers, as well as the BYD Dolphin and Atto 3 displayed by dealers Millenium Autobeyond, providing visitors the perfect snapshot of both the local EV market’s status and direction.
The expo also saw emerging green tech and EV charging infrastructure accelerators Yinson GreenTech announcing its latest partnership with telco giants CelcomDigi. Present in their stand too was its latest rydeEV electric two-wheel leasing initiative featuring EV motorcycles powered by swappable-battery tech.
Stalwart Japanese OEM Aisin were present too, and the firm had its staple transmission hardware plus a range of parts and fluids it produces being showcased.
Showcased at the the Aisin stand too was the e-motor said firm supplies for the Toyota bZ4X. The compact e-motor's display even featured detailed cut-outs showing its internals.
One familiar name that caught our eye was Aisin, and the renowned Japanese transmission maker’s regional arm were on hand to showcase its signature hardware. Unbeknownst to many, Aisin also manufactures a variety of spare parts including brakes and fluids, all of which were on display here.
Transmissions and spare parts aside, the firm also displayed the e-motor it supplies for the Toyota bZ4X with detailed cut-outs showing its internals. Indeed, it was interesting to see how an evergreen original equipment manufacturer (OEM) like Aisin evolve and adapt with the times through this.
As far as the mobility side of things go, it appears that organisers AMB Tarsus Events Group have delivered on its mission here. Perhaps this will be the right catalyst not just to see the expo’s continue hosting future editions, but also for its continued growth on all fronts besides mobility.
In other words, those seeking to grasp how the digital economy age’s effect on the various sectors of the mobility business and industry might find EVM Asia 2023 to be an expo worth visiting this week.
