Tech developers ACO Tech have successfully integrated Sarawak's Pay & Go into its ATLAS OS that powers the IHUs of select Proton cars.
Tech developers ACO Tech, jointly owned by Proton, Altel, and ECARX, announced today that it has successfully integrated Sarawak’s home-grown smart payment solution Pay & Go into its ATLAS OS for infotainment head units (IHUs) in Proton cars.
The effort was officially announced at the World Congress on Innovation & Technology 2023 (WCIT 2023) held in Kuching, Sarawak and saw both ACO Tech and Pay & Go formalising a Product Integration Agreement (PIA).
The effort was officially announced at the World Congress on Innovation & Technology 2023 (WCIT 2023) held in Kuching, Sarawak today. It saw both parties holding a ceremony to formalise this first-of-its-kind Product Integration Agreement (PIA) aimed towards enhancing user convenience and driving experiences.
Present during this ceremony were ACO Tech CEO Li Pu and Pay & Go CEO Eddie Wee. Standing as witnesses too was the Premier of Sarawak YAB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, and Proton Deputy CEO Roslan Abdullah.
Starting 4 Oct, the IHU in the Proton X70 will have Pay & Go services integrated in their IHUs that run ACO Tech's latest ATLAS OS.
This latest partnership between ACO Tech and Pay & Go sees the latter’s convenient solution integrated into selected Proton models that run the former’s ATLAS OS in their IHUs. This, in turn, grants users to make parking payments via Pay & Go directly via their in-car infotainment display.
According to ACO Tech, integrated Pay & Go service will first be made available in the Proton X70 models that run the updated ATLAS OS in their IHUs starting 4 Oct. It will soon be available in other connected Proton models like the X50 and the new X90 via the developer’s usual over-the-air (OTA) software updates.
Besides the X70, the X50 and new X90 models are set to feature integrated Pay & Go services too. This will be enabled via over-the-air (OTA) software updates from ACO Tech.
“The integration of Pay & Go into ATLAS underscores our commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions to our valued customers,” said ACO Tech CEO Li Pu at the ceremony. He also noted collaborations with likeminded partners such as Pay & Go also sees ACO Tech now offer customer-centric solution for parking via the ATLAS OS-powered Proton IHU.
“We are delighted to collaborate with ACO Tech to integrate more of our in-car lifestyle solutions in PROTON models to enhance overall customer experience. We have plans to roll out more features in the ATLAS system such as eReservation for F&B and Parking Space Reservation, among other things, in the near future,” adds Pay & Go CEO Eddie Wee.
Currently, Pay & Go services are available across 28 locations, the bulk of which primarily covering Sarawak’s state capital of Kuching. However, the firm does plan to expand further into more areas, especially in the Klang Valley.
