Elon Musk, "Tesla Dug Its Own Grave" - Cybertruck To Begin Delivery 30 Nov, 2023!
According to Reuters, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has issued a cautionary warning about the production of the eagerly awaited Cybertruck while simultaneously confirming the start of deliveries on November 30, 2023.
The Cybertruck is Tesla's entry into the lucrative pickup truck market, where it is anticipated to face off against a number of tough competitors which includes the Rivian's R1T and Ford's F-150 Lightning. Even the Tesla Malaysian configurator lists the Cybertruck as one of the products that will be made available in the near future.
Elon Musk is urging caution despite being excited about the possibilities of the Cybertruck. He has asked the public to tone down expectations and admits that Tesla has created their own grave with the Cybertruck because it has been extremely difficult to scale up manufacturing while maintaining positive cash flow.
Although this is the case, Tesla has set a high production goal of over 125,000 Cybertrucks annually and 250,000 units by 2025. Over 1 million potential buyers have reserved the Cybertruck by paying small down payment proving its popularity.
Prior to the scheduled delivery on November 30, 2023, Tesla is anticipated to announce the official price of the Cybertruck. Tesla had previously planned to sell the Cybertruck in 2019 for under $40,000 (RM190,000). However since then due to the pandemic and more, the market for electric vehicles has changed entirely due to the rising costs for battery production and component shortages.
Additionally, it's crucial to remember that the market for electric vehicles is experiencing a drop in demand as consumers are less inclined to make discretionary purchases due to rising interest rates in America. In response, Tesla has aggressively lowered the price of its cars throughout the year globally in an effort to grow its user base and profit on the anticipated future sale of its high-margin self-driving software.
Despite the difficulties in manufacturing the Cybertruck, Tesla's announcement of the delivery date of November 30 somewhat gives optimism to those who have eagerly made reservations to purchase this unique, extremely angular ground-breaking electric pickup.
