- BYD Will Build First Europe Plant In Hungary - German Daily
According to German Daily, the leading Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, BYD, intends to build its first plant in Europe in Hungary. BYD made the decision to establish a manufacturing facility in Hungary internally. Wang Chuanfu, President and Chairman of BYD, met with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban during a visit to the company's headquarters in Shenzhen.
Although BYD has stated that it is still looking for the best location for the plant and will make a final decision by the end of this year. BYD's decision to establish a manufacturing facility in Hungary reflects the company's desire to expand its presence in the European market.
This is in response to the growing demand for electric vehicles in Europe, as governments push for stricter emission regulations and consumers opt for cleaner, more sustainable modes of transportation.
The Chinese automaker hopes to increase its competitiveness in the region and meet the growing demand for EVs by establishing a manufacturing base in Europe. BYD could secure a significant share of Europe's ever-changing EV market with its advanced technology and diverse portfolio of electric vehicles.
With its strategic location and favourable investment climate, Hungary provides an ideal environment for BYD to enter the European market. Because of the country's stable political situation, skilled workforce, and established automotive industry, it is an appealing destination for foreign investment. BYD's decision to locate its European plant in Hungary can also be attributed to the government's commitment to supporting the development of the electric vehicle industry through incentives and infrastructure investments.
