Touch ‘n Go has come forward to clarify that its Touch ‘n Go RFID tags installed on all participating vehicles does not have a set expiry date on it and can be used indefinitely as long as the RFID tag is not damaged.

Touch 'n Go claims that the public's misunderstanding of their recent effort to encourage "pilot" RFID users to replace their worn-out RFID tags is what's causing this confusion. The pilot project kicked off in 2018.

According to Touch ‘n Go further, in an event the pilot users opts to participate in the campaign, their initial worn-out RFID tag would be deregistered by 31 January 2024 upon receiving their new RFID tag in order to eliminate double RFID registered to a vehicle.

Those pilot users who do not opt  in to this campaign due to tag being still in good condition would be able to continue using all Touch ‘n Go RFID services without any problem.
