No Police Roadblocks On Dangerous Stretches

627051.jpg The police will not place roadblocks on dangerous stretches of road, such as hills or bends, according to Deputy Home Minister Datuk Seri Shamsul Anuar Hj Nasarah. Such blocks, however, would be implemented only if an accident occurred in order to control traffic until the accident was cleared and the investigation was completed.

He was responding to a question in parliament last week from Labis MP Pang Hok Liong about the PDRM's standard operating procedures for roadblocks.

Pang also inquired about cops who abuse their authority and fail to follow roadblock SOPs, to which Shamsul Anuar responded that PDRM has SOPs that personnel at roadblocks must follow.

He stated that if SOPs are not followed, investigations will be conducted by the in-house Jabatan Integriti dan Pematuhan Standard (JIPS), according to BH.

“This means we cannot simply allow our officers to conduct their duties without following SOPs. There will be action taken by JIPS, PDRM,” Shamsul Anuar added. What’s the most unexpected or even ‘dangerous’ place you’ve encountered a roadblock before?
