Greetings, readers!

Yes, we know it has been a while since we addressed you, our loyal readers, fans, and followers. However, as the new year finally beckons, perhaps there couldn’t be a better time then.

I pen this just as the CariCarz.com Editorial team completes its first full working day of 2024. As you can probably guess, our manpower isn’t as big as what some of our competitors are blessed with, but we’ve tried our very best to punch above our weight – and size! – throughout 2023.

Have you checked out our recent list of best new car and new EV launches of 2023? If you haven't, then click here and here...

What a fruitful year 2023 proved to be. Not only did we attended and covered a higher number of launch events than the year before, but we also conducted even more road-tests too. What’s unmistakable as well is the increased number of electric vehicles (EVs) we sampled throughout 2023.

And we do it all just for you, all in the hopes that you are firstly informed of things that matter, and secondly, be somewhat entertained through a good read or watch, the latter through our video contents. We will be ramping up our outputs on both fronts, so do look out for these.

While we are tempted to share with you some of the exciting road tests we have planned for this month, we’ll keep the suspense going for a bit with just a few hits: both the electrified and very sporty kinds will be sampled. In other words, stay tuned and find out in the coming weeks!

PADU is now online, and its promise of fairer distribution of subsidies for fuel and electricity might affect how things go for the local auto industry in the second half of 2024.

Looking ahead, the new year is looks very promising indeed for the industry, though we suspect the implementation of PADU and its promise of delivering fairer targeted subsidies to the rakyat might slow things down a little, especially in the second half of the year - these things take time to stabilise.

Otherwise, we have plenty to look forward to in the first half alone, especially in the EV space. Expect to see even more products, as well as its accompanying charging infrastructure space growing even bigger. The latter is crucial, so we hope the nation’s collective targets for which are achieved.

As always, whilst all this is happening, we will do our best to inform you through our daily postings. Please also don’t forget to share us your thoughts and feedback, and you can do so via the comments section right here on our website, as well as our social media pages - Facebook / Instagram / TikTok.

Lastly, we thank you, our loyal readers, fans, and followers, for your support over the last year. You are the reason that keeps us going, and we only aim to do both more and better throughout 2024. Before we part ways, we would also like to remind all of you to always be safe and mindful on the road.

Until our next Editor’s Note entry, whenever that may be, please enjoy what we’ve got coming up this month.

Sincerely,

Thoriq Azmi
