- PROLINTAS Get RM2.7 Billion Financing For Restructuring Effort
Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (Bank Pembangunan) recently approved Tawarruq Asset Financing facilities amounting to RM2.7 billion for Prolintas Managers Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd (PROLINTAS).
This financial assistance is critical in assisting PROLINTAS Group's comprehensive restructuring efforts, specifically for four concessions: Ampang - Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH), Guthrie Corridor Motorway (GCE), Lebuhraya Kemuning - Shah Alam (LKSA), and Kajang Dispersal Link Motorway (SILK).
PROLINTAS' successful restructuring, combined with strategic investments and a strong emphasis on safety and technology, has contributed to operational efficiency. This, in turn, enabled the company to maintain sustainable investment returns and provide good yields to investors even after toll rate reductions.
PROLINTAS, founded in 1995, has significantly improved people's mobility in the Klang Valley, benefiting approximately 600,000 daily users by reducing congestion and commuter travel time.
Bank Pembangunan Group CEO Roni Abdul Wahab emphasised the bank's commitment to providing impact capital for national development as well as its counter-cyclical role in supporting long-term, sustainable infrastructure investment.
Meanwhile, Datuk Mohammad Azlan Abdullah, Group CEO of PROLINTAS, reaffirmed PROLINTAS' commitment to providing first-rate highway services.
The exec adds that the financing from Bank Pembangunan strengthens their capacity to drive economic development, restructure debt, and continue enhancing urban connectivity, all while aligning with their mission to be the preferred commuter route.
