The upcoming Volkswagen Touareg R-Line CKD has just rolled out of the Pekan plant ahead of its debut .

In case you missed it, Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia is poised to launch the new, locally assembled (CKD) Touareg R-Line SUV later this month. Ahead of its planned debut, the first few units of the Touareg CKD have just rolled out of VPCM’s Pekan production facility, ready for its timely debut.

In conjunction with the Touareg R-Line CKD production commencement, Volkswagen Group Malaysia has organised a special GodFather/Mother Touareg programme.

In conjunction with its production commencement, Volkswagen Group Malaysia (VGM) managing director Dr. Sussane Lehmann has introduced a special GodFather/Mother Touareg programme. This unique initiative by VGM involves 20 proteges, where each of them is assigned to take special care of their "child," namely the soon-to-be-launched Touareg R-Line CKD.

All 20 selected proteges are given a Touareg R-Line each to be taken care of as their "child".

The program comprised several processes from beginning to end, which included stages like unpacking and foaming to follow up on the car parts status, car progress, and assembly issues. Throughout all these stages, the godfathers and mothers were tasked with monitoring their "child" closely and ensuring its progress as planned.

The assigned godfathers and mothers have put their utmost effort into ensuring the vehicles were at designated assembly checkpoints as per schedule by flagging up potential delays in the process and timing. Ultimately, the program was a success, with all the objectives being met thanks to the fully committed proteges who ensured that all the vehicles were ready for the end customers.

This program is part of VGM’s initiative to further improve the quality assurance of VPCM’s Pekan production hub, where each and every model going through the assembly line must be given thorough detail and inspections before being signed off for delivery to customers. With the success of this GodFather/Mother initiative, both VGM and VPCM hoped that each CKD model rolled off the Pekan plant to maintain the utmost quality for better customers’ satisfaction.
