- NexV Secures Skyworth EV Distribution & CKD Rights in Malaysia
NexV Auto Alliance Sdn Bhd (NAASB), a subsidiary of Careplus Group Berhad, has acquired the exclusive distribution rights for Skyworth's smart electric cars in Malaysia from Jiangsu Skywell Automobile, China.
This distribution agreement will also allow NAASB to provide spare parts and after-sales services for Skyworth EVs here in Malaysia.
The new Skyworth EVs feature cutting-edge EV technology, combining excellent performance with environmentally responsible operations. These vehicles, which have roomy, intelligent cabins and cutting-edge entertainment systems, make use of efficient battery technology for improved mileage efficiency, offering a safe, comfortable, and sustainable driving experience.
According to Lim Kwee Shyan, CEO of Careplus Group Berhad, "We are thrilled to collaborate with Skyworth to bring their revolutionary EVs to Malaysia. This relationship is perfectly aligned with our objective of leading Malaysia's electric mobility revolution by bringing smart, sustainable, and affordable transportation solutions to Malaysian customers.
Lim, who is also the acting CEO of NexV Manufacturing Sdn Bhd (NMSB), noted that the group intends to locally assemble (CKD) the Skyworth models at the Chembong Industrial Area factory, which is still under development.
NexV intends to make the Skyworth vehicles more competitively priced than their fully-imported (CBU) counterparts by locally assembling them here in Malaysia. To those who are still unaware, NexV Auto is the same company that will CKD and distribute the NETA brand of EVs in Malaysia. Their CKD effort will kick off once the new specialised New Energy Vehicle (NEV) CKD production and assembly plant in Negeri Sembilan is complete.
According to our source, NexV intends to introduce the Skyworth EV6, which is already available in China and is up for pre-order in New Zealand. However, we are still unsure which varieties will be offered here, as there are now four variants available in China.
According to NexV, the Skyworth brand will officially be launched in the third quarter of this year, with further models and variants to follow in the future.
