- Proton DX Aims to Empower 200 STEM Students in 2024
Proton DX aims to engage 200 Malaysian students to stimulate their interests in STEM education by 2024.
In a bid to cultivate interest and foster understanding of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) subjects in Malaysia, Proton’s tech arm ACO Tech is opening the doors for its newly-established Proton DX (digital experience centre) for STEM exploration.
As the nation’s first automotive digital centre that houses a blend of interactive technology and lifestyle elements, Proton DX aims to be the centre for automotive and technological learning for all ages. Since its establishment in June 2023, Proton DX has organised several programs to cultivate interest in STEM amongst young Malaysian students.
This initiative includes a monthly Student Robotic Car Workshop catered to secondary school students. At the workshop, students learn the basics of assembling and programming their own mini-autonomous vehicle using an Arduino platform.
As of now, over 50 Malaysian youths across the Klang Valley participated in the workshop, with the latest batch of students participating in the workshop being a group of 20 students from SMK Taman Tun Dr. Ismail.
Ultimately, ACO Tech aims to empower at least 200 Malaysian youths with its STEM initiative.
Aside from the robotics workshop, ACO Tech is also working to introduce other engaging activities related to STEM as part of this new initiative. Ultimately, the firm aims to engage with at least 200 Malaysian students and youths by the end of the year. To help achieve this aim, ACO Tech is also open to working with any other local companies in search of a platform to conduct events and workshops promoting STEM awareness, as well as other activities designed to bring local communities together.
Besides school students, Proton DX also opens its doors to the public of any age to come and experience the exciting activities offered here. This includes the Virtual Cockpit—a virtual drive in a purpose-built enclosed theatre-like dome to experience smart mobility—as well as a dedicated space for community engagements and barista classes by Proton DX’s very own certified barista.
For those who are not familiar with Proton DX, this dedicated technology experience centre was developed by ACO Tech in collaboration between national automaker Proton and China Construction Bank (CCB). Spanning over 5,000 square feet, this centre can fit around 40 guests comfortably at any given time, including a private VIP lounge equipped with an 86-inch TV for meetings.
The Proton DX centre opens daily from 10 AM to 10 PM and is located on the ground floor of Quill City Mall, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur. For collaborative events, schools, universities, local businesses, and potential partners, you can reach out to Proton DX via its official Facebook or Instagram pages.
