- Estonian e-hailing firm, Bolt Starts Recruiting Drivers In Malaysia
Earlier this year, we saw that Bolt, a major Estonian e-hailing company, was making moves in Malaysia, beginning with the search for a country manager, indicating its impending arrival.
Lowyat.com reported that the company has now set up a Malaysian landing page on its website, where it is currently recruiting drivers.
It is unclear when the Bolt app will launch in Malaysia, but drivers with an e-hailing license are eligible to sign up to become drivers.

Since the Malaysian section of the list only includes the Klang Valley as one of the locations, we can assume that this is where the platform will launch locally. Founded in Estonia more than ten years ago in 2013, Bolt is referred to as an all-in-one mobility app. It provides ride-hailing, grocery and food delivery, bike and scooter rentals, and carsharing services.
At the moment, it operates in more than 500 cities across more than 45 countries in Latin America, Western Asia, Africa, and Europe.
Bolt embarked on its Southeast Asian expansion in 2020, launching in Bangkok, Thailand, with two services currently operational: Bolt Rides, which provides ride-hailing services, and Bolt Business, which offers ride-hailing services on a corporate level.
