c1_1210441_170308025902.jpg Foreign visitors entering Thailand via 16 land and sea checkpoints are not required to present an arrival or departure card until April 30 2025, according to announcements made by Sorawong Thienthong, Thailand's Minister of Tourism and Sports.
This is due to the Thai government's decision to extend the exemption for foreign nationals from submitting the TM.6 Form when entering and leaving the country. Untitled-design---2024-10-17T094109.883.png
The suspension, which went into effect on April 15 and was scheduled to end on Tuesday, was intended to enhance immigration services, ease traffic at checkpoints, and increase tourism to support economic expansion.
This was an expansion of the pilot program that suspended the arrival and departure card requirement at Songkhla's Sadao Checkpoint bordering Bukit Kayu Hitam, Kedah, and proved to be very successful in attracting Malaysian travelers to Thailand. Untitled-design---2024-10-17T093551.875.png

As stated by Bangkok Post, the main points of entry where the exemption applies are pretty much all of Thailand's borders with Malaysia, in addition to Aranyaprathet in Sa Kaeo and Chiang Saen in Chiang Rai.
Furthermore, Thailand is currently receiving rid of its arrival and departure cards entirely in favor of the online ETA system, which requires visitors from 93 countries that are eligible for visa-free entry to register online before arriving in Thailand. A QR code is then used to pass through automated immigration gates.
