The Proton e.MAS 7 was officially launched earlier today, with ASEAN NCAP simultaneously releasing its crash test results. The new C-Segment EV SUV earned an impressive 5-star safety rating, scoring 92.57 points overall, including 39.00 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), 17.32 in Child Occupant Protection (COP), 20.00 in Safety Assist (SA), and 16.25 in Motorcyclist Safety (MS).

As Proton’s first EV, the e.MAS 7 mirrors its Chinese twin, the Geely Galaxy E5, in offering extensive safety features. These include six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and a Seatbelt Reminder System (SBR) with seat detection for all occupants.

Furthermore, advanced technologies such as Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Automatic High Beam (AHB), Pedestrian Protection (PP), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), and Lane Keep Assist (LKA), among others, are also standard across both variants offered.

ASEAN NCAP highlighted that the e.MAS 7 scored highest-in-class for Safety Assist, thanks to its robust suite of active safety features.

This safety assessment according to ASEAN NCAP also applies to both Brunei and Singapore. During the launch, it was also announced that Proton plans to expand the e.MAS 7 to markets such as Mauritius, Nepal, and Trinidad and Tobago..
