- ETCM Set To Commence Nissan Kicks e-Power Deliveries Soon
The new Nissan Kicks e-Power from ETCM is a step closer to reaching local customers.
Nissan assemblers and distributors Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) are set to begin first deliveries for its newest metal, the Nissan Kicks e-Power, very soon. In a press release issued this week, the firm says that the model will start reaching customers locally “in the coming week.”
Accompanying its release were two images showing what appears to be Malaysia-bound Kicks e-Power units wrapped up and awaiting shipping in a holding yard – presumably in Thailand, which is where the model for our market is produced and sourced from.

As a refresher, ETCM officially launched the Kicks e-Power model last month during KLIMS 2024. The model sees two variants on offer, those being the base VL and range-topping VLT. Prices read at RM113,800 for the VL, RM121,800 for the VLT, and RM125,800 for the VLT with two-tone paint option.
Both share the same e-Power extended range/range-extender hybrid (REEV/EREV) powertrain under their hoods. As detailed prior, the package comprises of a 1.2-litre 3-cyl petrol mill serving solely as a generator to charge a compact 2.06 kWh battery pack mounted under the rear seat.
As detailed prior, the Kicks e-Power brings a unique EREV/REEV electrified hybrid powertrain into its segment.
The latter juices a front-mounted e-motor that drives the front wheels with 129 PS and 280 NM, allowing for 0-100 KM/H dashes done in 9.5 secs. Critical here is the setup’s efficiency, with Nissan touting low fuel consumption averages of 21.7 KM/litre and up to 900 KM range with each full fill-up.
Ultimately, what e-Power brings to consumers is EV-like performance minus the hassle of plugging in to charge or range anxieties. You can read our initial impressions of this rather unique electrified offering in our First Drive report of it by clicking these blue words.
Apart from the Kicks e-Power, ETCM are poised to introduce more offerings locally featuring the same electrified powertrain later this year. Key amongst which is the new sixth-gen Serena MPV and, as hinted during KLIMS 2024, possibly several other models too.
