- Kia EV2, EV4, & PV5 Teased Ahead of Feb 27 Debut
Kia’s EV lineup is about to grow further this year, with the EV2, EV4, and the PV5 all slated to debut later on Feb 27.
Kia has got a few surprises up its sleeves for the upcoming 2025 Kia EV Day, set to take place later on Feb 27 in Tarragona, Spain. That is because the Korean automaker is poised to debut three new EV models during that day, which include the likes of the EV2, EV4, and the PV5.
Before making their global debuts, Kia has unveiled several teaser images of its upcoming EV trio. We’ll start with the EV4, which was previewed in its concept form during last year’s Kia EV Day for the Asia-Pacific region (APAC).
Kia EV4 Concept previewed at the 2024 Kia APAC EV Day last year.
For the global market, the EV4 is believed to be available in both sedan and hatchback forms. From the official teaser images and its concept twin, we can see it incorporates Kia’s signature Opposites United design language, which has been a staple in many of its EVs since the EV9.
Although no powertrain specs were given for now, we can expect the EV4 to be offered with the same powertrain options as the EV3, featuring either a 58.3-kWh NMC-type battery pack with 435 KM of WLTP range or a larger 81.4-kWh NMC unit that supplies up to 605 KM of range (WLTP).
Moving on to the PV5, this commercial minivan was also being previewed during Kia APAC EV Day 2024. Besides its bold, EV9-inspired design, the PV5 is believed to come with a modular interior layout that grants business owners flexibility in speccing out their minivans.
Last on the list is the EV2, which is the only model that Kia has yet to unveil its concept twin. From the teaser images, we can speculate that the EV2 could be a small hatchback with some crossover-inspired design cues such as the plastic body cladding and faux skid plates.
Similarly, the EV2 is also seen to adopt the EV9’s Opposites United design philosophy, featuring striking, vertical-mounted LED headlights and 3D-style taillights, a blacked-out roof, and a pretty muscular body proportion.
Besides these three upcoming models, Kia's 2025 EV Day will also see the Korean automaker presenting its new global EV strategies. With no details or information given for now, our best bet is to wait until Feb 27 to find out what those strategies are.
