Sapura Industrial Berhad (SIB) entered a five-year partnership deal with Mubea Fahrwerksfedern GmbH (Mubea), a global leader in lightweight automotive parts to produce hollow stabiliser bars and high-stress coil springs.

This collaboration gives SIB - the only stabiliser bar manufacturer in Malaysia - access to Mubea’s cutting-edge expertise to enhance its ability to design, develop, and produce these components.

This partnership is also important in lieu of the automotive industry's preference shifting towards lighter materials for better vehicle efficiency for both internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and electric vehicles (EV).

By adding hollow stabiliser bars to its line-up, SIB strengthens its role as a key supplier to car manufacturers, ensuring it stays ahead of evolving industry needs.

At the same time, the company is scaling up its coil spring production, creating new opportunities across the region all while cementing its position as Malaysia’s largest coil spring producer.

Encik Mohd Fahmi Md Isa, Head of Manufacturing Business at SIB, highlighted the benefits of the deal. He emphasized that access to Mubea’s top-tier engineering expertise would allow SIB to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency - ultimately benefiting automotive brands.

Mubea also sees this collaboration as a strategic move. Its Head of Region Asia, Andrzej Wojcikowski expressed confidence in the synergy between the two companies, citing their shared focus on innovation and precision engineering.

For four decades, SIB has been a trusted partner for both local and international car brands. Its expertise spans chassis component manufacturing, modular assembly, and advanced suspension technology.

This partnership will be spearheaded by SIB’s subsidiary, Sapura Automotive Industries Sdn Bhd (SAI), ensuring smooth integration of technical knowledge and long-term value creation for the automotive sector.

Notably, SIB has also recently partnered with Mili Tech Sdn Bhd, an EV service, repair, and training solutions firm, as well as ZZ Tech, a manufacturer of precision components for new energy vehicle (xEV) batteries and lithium battery storage.
