Honda 0 SUV Breaks Cover in Striking Camouflage

Honda’s all-electric future took centre stage in Tokyo recently as the highly anticipated Honda 0 SUV made its global public debut at the Red Bull Showrun x Powered by Honda event.

The 0 SUV was driven by three-time Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen alongside Yuki Tsunoda. The prototype also took to the streets in striking camouflage, hinting at Honda’s new direction in EV design.

Originally unveiled at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 alongside the 0 Saloon, the 0 SUV is the first model in the Honda 0 Series, a new line-up of EVs based on a dedicated electric vehicle platform. Inspired by the Space-Hub concept model the 0 SUV promises a spacious, highly adaptable cabin with exceptional visibility.

Production of the 0 Series is expected to begin in 2026 at Honda’s EV Hub in Ohio. With the 0 SUV, Honda aims to redefine its EV philosophy - “Thin, Light, and Wise” design approach.

The prototype showcased in Tokyo featured a specially designed camo-wrap with geometric lines and light reflections which pretty much masked all the finer details while still managing to communicate Honda’s new design ethos. This too indicates that final design elements are still under wraps, as Honda continues refining the production model ahead of its 2026 release.

The street demonstration drive was part of a larger celebration of the successful six-year collaboration between Honda and Red Bull Racing, which has yielded over 63 Formula 1 victories, four consecutive Drivers’ World Championships and two Constructors’ Championships (2022, 2023).

Alongside the camouflaged Honda 0 SUV, the event featured Red Bull Racing’s legendary F1 cars, including the RB16B and RB7, as well as the historic V12-powered Honda RA272—the first Japanese F1 car to claim a Grand Prix victory in 1965.

Honda has emphasised that the 0 SUV will be the first in a new wave of EVs incorporating advanced technology and an ultra-personalized user experience. The vehicle is set to feature the brand-new ASIMO OS, a digital operating system designed to enhance in-car interactions and optimization.

Although the 0 Series has so far been confirmed for the North American market, it will eventually be available in other global markets, including Japan and Europe.
