Sarawak has kicked off testing at its <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.carz.com.my/2024/11/hydrogen-powered-mirai-trials-to-begin-next-year-in-pen-malaysia" target="_blank" style="">first green hydrogen refuelling station, located at the PETROS Multifuel Station in Batu Kawa</a>, marking a major step in the state’s clean energy push.Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian said the<a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.carz.com.my/2023/01/sarawak-premier-abang-jo-now-drives-hydrogen-powered-toyota-mirai" target="_blank" style=""> hydrogen is produced at Darul Hana</a> and transported to Batu Kawa. Right now, <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.carz.com.my/2025/05/rm15-million-hydrogen-station-in-putrajaya-visionary-or-misplaced-bet" target="_blank" style="">hydrogen-powered vehicles are mostly commercial units under trial runs</a>,” he said in a Facebook post.<span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:Arial,sans-serif;color:#000000;background-color:transparent;font-weight:400;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;text-decoration:none;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre;white-space:pre-wrap;">Dr Sim personally tested the station by refuelling a Toyota Mirai with 2kg of hydrogen in just three minutes, enough for roughly 280km of range. The <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.carz.com.my/2025/01/mutiara-line-lrt-penangs-rm83-billion-connectivity-investment" target="_blank" style="font-size: 12pt;">project’s first phase </a>has been awarded to the SRS Consortium, led by Gamuda (60%), with Loh Phoy Yen Holdings and Ideal Property Development each holding 20%.
