- VinFast VF6 EV Debuts in Indonesia – 399 KM WLTP, From RM103K
The VinFast VF6 EV SUV debuts in Indonesia, featuring up to 399 km of WLTP range and priced from RM103,211 onward.
It’s been more than a year since VinFast unveiled its ambitious plan for our neighbouring Indonesian market, and the Vietnamese automaker has finally launched its new EV in said republic, the VinFast VF6. This is also the first time a right-hand drive (RHD) version of the VF6 has been revealed, where it comes in two variants for the Indonesian market, priced from IDR 396.995 million (RM103,211) onwards.
The VF6 lineup starts with the base-spec Eco, which uses a front electric motor rated at 174 hp (130 kW) and 250 Nm, while the top-spec Plus uses a peppier motor that delivers 201 hp (150 kW) and 310 Nm. Regardless of variants, both of them are juiced by a 59.6-kWh LFP-type battery pack that provides 399 km of WLTP range for the Eco and 381 km for the Plus.
Charging-wise, both VF6 variants come with an 11 kW AC on-board charger. Although no specific figures were given for its DC charging, VinFast claims the VF6 can be charged from 10% to 70% in about 25 minutes.
In terms of size, the VinFast VF6 is being positioned as the marque's B-segment EV SUV fighter, thus putting it in the same category as other Chinese EV crossovers like the MG S5 EV, the Chery Omoda E5, and many more. Some standard equipment primed here includes full LED headlights with distinctive V-shaped DRL, 17-inch wheels (18-inch for the Plus), V-shaped LED taillights, and many more.
On board, the VF6 gains some decent standard equipment, such as the 12.9-inch central infotainment screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, a head-up display (HUD), keyless entry and start, and many more.
Opting for the Plus variant will grant you some extra bits like a powered driver’s seat, vegan leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, and a full ADAS suite that includes adaptive cruise control (ACC), traffic jam assist (TJA), lane departure warning (LDW), lane keep assist (LKA), forward collision warning (FCW), rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA), and many more.
During its launch, VinFast also announced special deals for the first time, including free charging at VinFast stations operated by V-Green through March 1, 2028, and an accessory gift package valued at IDR 13.345 million (RM3,468).
On top of that, VinFast is also offering all its models in Indonesia with a vehicle exchange and buy-back policy, offering up to 90% of the vehicle’s value after six months and 70% after three years, aiming at reducing resale value concerns and providing flexibility for owners when they want to upgrade their models in the future.
