The 2025 Le Mans 24 Hours race held last weekend, which marked the annual endurance racing event’s 93rd running, saw world renowned Italian supercars and racing marque Ferrari chart a historic hat-trick of wins.

Taking overall victory was the AF Corse privateer team entry led by the driving trio of Robert Kubica, Yifei Ye and Phil Hanson. The outfit’s striking, yellow-liveried No. 83 Ferrari 499P Hypercar took the flag after completing a total of 387 laps.

Coming in a relatively close second place overall – and second in the premier Hypercar class – was the No.6 Porsche 963 machine entered by works Porsche Penske Motorsport entry and its driving trio of Kévin Estre, Laurens Vanthoor and Matt Campbell.

Completing the premier Hypercar class podium and clinching third overall was the No. 51 red-liveried Ferrari 499P piloted by last year’s winning trio of Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Antonio Giovinazzione of the two full-works Ferrari AF Corse entries.

The sister No. 50 Ferrari AF Corse entry, on the other hand, saw its piloting trio of Antonio Fuoco, Nicklas Nielsen and Miguel Molina – winners from the 2023 edition – muster their identical Ferrari 499P machine to finish fourth overall and in in the Hypercar class.

Besides AF Corse charting the first outright privateer team overall win since 2005, drivers Robert Kubica and Ye Yifei both became their respective nation's first drivers to take an overall win at Le Mans.

Despite initially charting blistering pace in Saturday’s Hyperpole Qualifying to claim pole position with a new course record, the No. 12 Cadillac V-Series.R works machine helmed by Will Stevens, Norman Nato and Alex Lynn could only place fifth overall and in class.

It’s worth noting that this year’s race again proved close as the top five mentioned all finished on the same lap, with the winning Ferrari finishing a mere 14.048 secs ahead of the runner-up Porsche and some 28.457 secs ahead of the third-placed works Ferrari.

The win saw Ferrari chart a historic hat-trick of wins in the Hypercar class and era. The marque has 12 overall wins at the famed endurance race now.

Critically, the win also marks several firsts. Drivers Kubica and Ye each became their respective nation’s (Poland and China) first representative to claim an overall win at Le Mans, whilst the AF Corse team marked the first outright privateer team overall win since 2005.

Critically, this third win in a row for the Ferrari 499P Hypercar machine charts the marque’s first hat-trick of overall wins in the modern Hypercar era. The prancing horse marque last charted consecutive overall wins at the famed endurance race with six on the trot from 1960 to 1965.

With a total of 12 overall victories, this puts Ferrari as the third most successful manufacturer at the famed 24 hours endurance race behind Audi (13 wins) and Porsche (19 wins).

Premier Hypercar class aside, the LMP2 category saw the Inter Europol Competition team and its No. 43 Oreca 07-Gibson machine driven by Jakub Smiechowski, Tom Dillmann and Nick Yelloly take the class win whilst also placing 19th overall with 367 laps charted.

Lastly, the production-based LMGT3 class saw factory-backed Manthey 1st Phorm Porsche racing team seize the class win with its No. 92 Porsche 911 GT3R LMGT3 machine driven by Ryan Hardwick, Riccardo Pera and Richard Lietz  with 341 laps charted.
