PLUS Malaysia announced lane-closures plus contraflow for a stretch of the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway. See details below.

heads up for commuters and leisure travellers in Penang alike. Starting June 18, a stretch of the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu expressway from the Penang Bridge towards George Town will experience full lane closure plus a contraflow, PLUS Malaysia announced.

Both the lane closure and contraflow are set to last from 10PM to 6AM until June 20. During which, a series of planned roadworks will take place, and it involves the use and operation of special machinery for the safe dismantling of an overhead pedestrian bridge.

Specifically, the exact location is described as “Line N, CH 1.0 – CH 1.25” – nearby The Light, just before the Caltex filling station located along said route.

Take note, all four lanes on this stretch mentioned will be closed, hence the contraflow. This also means two Penang Bridge-bound lanes will be closed too as a result, so take note when planning your trips accordingly and drive safe.
