The all-new Ioniq 6 N breaks cover as a performance EV saloon that is good enough to be Hyundai’s fastest creation yet.

Following several spy shots and an extensive teaser campaign, Hyundai has finally taken the wraps off its new, high-performance electric model, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 N. Unveiled at the ongoing Goodwood Festival of Speed 2025, this manic version of the Ioniq 6 is not only touted as the most performance-oriented EV by the Korean brand but also the fastest Hyundai yet.

And just like the Ioniq 5 N, the Ioniq 6 N is jam-packed with driver-centric features and gizmos that set it apart from most ‘performance’ EVs that can only brag about their straight-line performances.

We’ll start with the big numbers first: the Ioniq 6 N practically adopts the same dual-motor AWD setup as its hot-hatch sibling, featuring a front motor with 223 hp (166 kW) and a rear motor rated at 400 hp (298 kW). Combined, this dual-motor setup delivers 601 hp (448 kW), or up to 641 hp (478 kW) once you engage the N Grin Boost mode.

Similarly, juice is provided by the same 84-kWh unit with an 800-volt architecture as the Ioniq 5 N, capable of supporting DCFC at up to 350 kW, taking the battery from 10 to 80% in just 18 minutes.

Those big numbers translate to a quick 0 to 100 km/h sprint time of 3.2 seconds, making it 0.2 seconds faster than the Ioniq 5 N, despite its larger size. Flat out, Hyundai claims the Ioniq 6 N can reach a limited V-max of 257 km/h.

While these numbers may not be as impressive as the Tesla Model 3 Performance, the Ioniq 6 N distinguishes itself from the competition with a variety of settings and functions that aim to improve its driving experience. These include an updated N Active Sound+ system with three customisable profiles that sound louder than the Ioniq 5 N, as well as an improved version of the hatch’s N e-Shift gear shift simulator.

Not to forget, the Ioniq 6 N also gets a special N Drift Optimiser, N Battery system to pre-condition the battery for high-performance driving, and N Torque Distribution that features up to 11 torque split configurations.

In terms of aesthetics, the Ioniq 6 N gets an elaborate aero kit setup that takes the already sporty facelifted Ioniq 6 to the next level. Up front, the new slim LED headlights are mated to a redesigned front bumper with larger air intakes and an aggressive front splitter.

The sporty makeover continues to the side, where the Ioniq 6 N adopts wider wheel arches to cover the 60 mm increase in both front and rear track widths. Speaking of wheels, the EV also rides on larger 20-inch alloy wheels with holed spokes to reduce weight, each shod with 275/35 Pirelli P Zero tyres.

At the rear, the Ioniq 6’s sleek fastback roofline has been accentuated with a swan-neck rear wing, plus a more prominent rear bumper finished in gloss black with red accents, while the N badge on the tailgate completes the whole sporty exterior makeover.

The N treatment continues inside the Ioniq 6 N, as it adopts the same sporty cabin as the Ioniq 5 N. Here, drivers will find new N bucket seats at the front, a dedicated N steering wheel with paddle shifters, as well as several buttons and dials to engage in many of its aforementioned driving features.

Other creature comforts include the dual 12.3-inch screen setup with N-specific graphics and telemetry functions, multi-zone climate control, N Ambient Shift Lights that give precise shift point cues to drivers, and many more.

Production for the all-new Hyundai Ioniq 6 N will take place at Hyundai’s Ulsan plant in South Korea, with deliveries for the domestic market set to commence in Sept, followed by the rest of the globe later this year. No pricing details were announced for now, but expect it to boast a significant premium over the standard Ioniq 6 saloon.
