Constable Muhammad Hakim Danial Ruhiman, 23, from the Bagan Serai Police Station, was riding towards Taiping when the crash happened at about 6.25pm. His motorcycle is believed to have grazed the lorry, throwing him onto the road.

Perak police chief Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin said the lorry did not remain at the scene.

“When our team arrived, the vehicle was gone and no witnesses could provide a clear description,” he said.

Muhammad Hakim suffered serious injuries to his waist and legs. He was rushed to Taiping Hospital but died while receiving treatment.

Police are now going through CCTV and dashcam recordings from other vehicles in the area to identify the lorry and track down its driver.
