He said the ministry was unhappy with the repeated disruptions since the aerotrain’s relaunch in July, despite MAHB claiming a 99.2% reliability rate.

“The backup shuttle bus service must remain available,” Loke said after a meeting with the National Logistics Task Force.

The latest incident on Tuesday saw passengers forced to walk along the tracks in the dark after a power failure marking the second major glitch in a month, following similar breakdowns on Oct 15 and Sept 4.

The minister stated the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) has opened an investigation into MAHB, warning that the ministry will not tolerate more excuses.

Meanwhile, MACC chief Tan Sri Azam Baki said the anti-graft agency is ready to investigate the project if there are signs of corruption or abuse of power, but so far, no reports have been lodged.

Despite mounting criticism, Loke said the government will not suspend the aerotrain service for now but stressed that accountability and reliability are non-negotiable.
