This year’s projects tackle issues such as food waste, e-waste, air and water pollution, and sustainable recycling practices. Each team was judged on creativity, feasibility, and long-term community benefits.

Selected from over 120 entries nationwide, the finalists include SMK Mohd Khalid from Johor, Kolej Sultan Abdul Hamid from Kedah, SMK Kubang Bemban from Kelantan, SMK Datuk Haji Mohd Nor Ahmad from Penang, and SMK Kota Kemuning from Selangor.

“These finalists represent more than just ideas on paper. They are stepping up with hands-on solutions that not only improve their schools but uplift entire communities,” said Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMW Toyota Motor.

He added, “The Toyota Eco Youth programme demonstrates the power of starting young, where students are equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence to take on real-world environmental challenges. Kaizen inspires them to keep improving their ideas and solutions

"Genchi Genbutsu reminds them to go to the source and understand problems firsthand. And respect for people is reflected in how they collaborate, show empathy and lead within their communities.”
