Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana) recently introduced the rebranding of six main Rapid travel passes with new names in Malay, marking a step forward in unifying the Rapid brand identity and strengthening the use of the National Language across Malaysia’s public transport system.

The announcement was made during the Santai Bersama Rapid KL 2.0 event held at the Puchong Industrial Park LRT Station.

The rebranding covers six key travel passes, which are now known by the following names: Rapid Kembara (formerly MyTourist Pass), Rapid Kota (MyCity Pass), Rapid Mesra (OKU Smile Pass), Rapid Keluarga (Keluarga Malaysia Pass), Rapid Pelajar (MyRapid Pelajar), and Rapid Emas (MyRapid Warga Emas).

Prasarana Group President and CEO, Amir Hamdan, said the rebranding exercise is a strategic move to strengthen the Rapid brand and align with the government’s efforts to promote the use of Bahasa Melayu as the National Language.

Amir added that this initiative is part of Prasarana’s preparation for Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (VMY2026), as public transport is expected to play a crucial role in enhancing the travel experience of both domestic and international tourists.

“Rapid Kembara, for example, is designed for tourists who want to explore the city easily using public transport, while Rapid Kota represents the dynamic mobility of urban communities. Each new name was chosen to be meaningful, familiar, and easy to identify,” he explained.

The event also marked the launch of #RakanRapid — a new initiative that celebrates the diversity of public transport users and the spirit of community among commuters.

#RakanRapid introduces a series of characters that represent various groups of users, where each character reflects real-life users who make public transport part of their daily routine.

The rebranding initiative and the launch of #RakanRapid underscores Prasarana’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its vision as the preferred choice for urban mobility, making public transport an essential part of a modern, sustainable, and people-centric city lifestyle.
