- 2026 BMW iX3 Neue Klasse Will Get Momenta ADAS Suite in China

The new BMW iX3 Neue Klasse will get its ADAS suite from Momenta in China ahead of its market debut in 2026.
It appears that the Chinese market will get a slightly different version of the new second-gen BMW iX3 Neue Klasse, which will debut in said market later in 2026. That is because aside from Huawei’s HarmonyOS Next software, the China-spec iX3 Neue Klasse will get its ADAS suite from China’s renowned autonomous driving technology company, Momenta.

As reported by CarNewsChina, the partnership between BMW and Momenta was signed back in July this year, where the new iX3 will use Momenta’s end-to-end “flywheel” large model, employing an integrated “perception-planning-control” architecture.
It incorporates large-scale neural networks for environment sensing, path planning, and high-precision vehicle control, enabling more advanced driving strategies. Combined with BMW's experience in safety, driver-centric interaction, and driving behavior, the system aims to interpret complex road situations and make decisions in a manner closer to a human driver.

This system is designed to deliver full-scenario navigation assistance across both highway and urban environments, aligning more closely with local traffic patterns. R&D teams from Momenta and BMW are conducting joint development and road testing across China, including in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenyang in Liaoning province, and Nanjing in Jiangsu province.
More importantly, the programme adheres to BMW's validation standards, with large-scale on-road trials covering heavy-traffic conditions and demanding edge-case scenarios, supported by hundreds of millions of kilometres of simulation to assess stability and reliability.

Apart from the upcoming iX3 Neue Klasse, the Momenta ADAS system will be progressively applied to future BMW models in China. As for the new iX3 itself, this next-gen EV SUV will be locally assembled (CKD) at BMW Brilliance’s Shenyang production facility in China ahead of its market entry later in 2026.
Besides BMW, Momenta also supplies its ADAS systems to a plethora of Chinese EVs, such as the China-only AUDI E5 Sportback, Toyota bZ7, and many more.
