You Can Score 'Cantik' Number Plates For As Low As RM250 In Penang This Weekend
![]()
Calling all Penangites (and anyone willing to make the road trip)! If you’ve been eyeing a special number plate but didn't want to burn a hole in your wallet, you might want to head to Stadium Negeri Pulau Pinang this Sunday.
JPJ is throwing a literal "warehouse sale" for number plates, offering 50,000 leftover gems like '8080' and '4444' for as low as RM250.
The "Clearance Sale" You’ve Been Waiting For

Not every "nice" number gets taken during the eBid auctions. Usually, these leftovers just sit in the system, but for one day only, JPJ is putting 50,000 numbers up for grabs at massive discounts.
We’re talking about popular sequences like 8080, 444, 4444, 121, and 323.
The Price Drop: 50% Off!
Forget the high bidding wars. For this event, JPJ has set fixed, half-price rates:
- 'Popular' Numbers: Now only RM250 (usually much higher!)
- 'Attractive' Numbers: Now only RM500
Note: There is a small RM10 service fee included, but it’s a steal compared to standard auction prices.
When & Where? (Mark Your Calendars!)
This isn't happening online on MySikap. You’ll have to head over to the Karnival Mega JPJ Madani 2026 to get in on the action.
- Location: Stadium Negeri Pulau Pinang, Batu Kawan.
- Carnival Dates: April 24 – 26, 2026.
- THE PLATE SALE DATE: Sunday, April 26 ONLY
If you show up on Friday or Saturday looking for plates, you’ll be out of luck, Sunday is the big day for hunters!
3 Things You MUST Know Before You Go
Before you rush to Batu Kawan, remember this:
- Cashless Only: JPJ is not accepting physical cash for these plates. Make sure your cards are ready or your e-wallets are topped up.
- No "Flipping" Allowed: Thinking of buying a plate to resell it for a profit? Think again. These sale numbers cannot be transferred or cancelled.
- The 6-Month Rule: Once you buy the plate, you must register it to a vehicle within six months. Don't let your "cantik" number go to waste!
If you’ve been waiting for the perfect "running number" or just want to upgrade your car’s look without breaking the bank, this Sunday in Penang is your best shot.
Will you be hunting for that 4444 or 8080 plate? Let us know in the comments!
