Nissan Built A Sports Car That Driven Lying Down

Nissan has built the GT-R(X) 2050, a single-occupant concept sports car model that is driven while lying down like one is doing a plank.

Measuring at a height of 660 mm and a length of 3,000 mm, the GT-R(X) 2050 is envisioned as a sports car that is operated through a ‘wearable machine’, which connects the human brain to the computer - an interface that is integrated into a special suit which doubles as a crash protection for the driver, and a helmet that provide a virtual reality vision of what is happening outside the sports car. A brain-to-core transmitter would then help the human brain to activate the digitalized signals.

The GT-R (X) 2050 looks like the letter X from the top view, and supposed to be powered by an electric motor that generates its energy from a ‘plazma energy core’ that is connected to the driver’s suit, like a tail.

Believe it or not, the person behind the design is a Seoul born Jaebum Choi, a Nissan Design America intern who summited the thesis. Little that this future car designer knows that the team at Nissan Design America would help to create the full-size model.

However, this concept GT-R (X) 2050 won’t be in production anytime soon. Can’t wait to see more concept cars from Nissan!
