Round 1 of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival will be broadcasting its on and off the track action, live on the internet.

Currently in its fourth triumphant season, the racing festival will be rolling off its Round 1 at the Sepang International Circuit starting from March 27th to 28th, 2021.

In adherence to the new-norm of the COVID-19 pandemic, its opening round will be temporarily closed to the public. Instead, viewing pleasures will be made available online via Toyota’s website and social media platforms.

UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd’s president Ravindran k said, “The concept of the festival remains unchanged, only the manner in which it reaches out to the public in these extraordinary and challenging times. The Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival has primarily been about bringing motorsports to the masses and we will continue to do this.”

Pointed out by the president, the silver lining would be that the opportunity to live stream the festival might reach out to an even larger and wider audience, including racing fans outside of Malaysia.

“The people who have come to the Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival over the past three seasons have done so for many different reasons. Some come for the racing, others for the chance to spend time with their favourite celebrities, and there are those who are there for so many different on- ground activities and attractions. Moving forward, it is imperative we continue with this even if it means going online, as this is what has fundamentally made the festival unique and a huge success,” he added.

Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival’s Round 1 will start broadcasting from 8.45 am - 12.10 pm and 2.00 pm - 6.00 pm on Saturday. As for Sunday, it’s from 10.45 am - 1.00 pm and 1.30 pm - 5.30 pm.

Jam-packed with action, the racing festival will showcase four classes of racing which will include the Rookie Class, the Promotional Class, the Sporting Class and the Super Sporting Class.

Apart from that, Gazoo racing fans can also look forward to the exhilarating battle that will include three qualifying sessions, six individual races, pit lane insights and interviews with racers.

Adding on to that, debuting for the first time along with the broadcast, is a new live stream entertainment segment called Toyota Gazoo Racing 'OFF THE GRID’. Hosted by 10 local celebrities, who will also be racing in the Vios Challenge.

Its live streaming will be accessible via the UMW Toyota Motor and Toyota Gazoo Racing Malaysia website at https://toyota.com.my/tgrmalaysia/, and on the Toyota Malaysia and Toyota Gazoo Racing Malaysia Facebook pages.

Any further inquiries, race fans can log on to https://toyota.com.my/tgrmalaysia/.
