Royal Malaysia Police Is Still Waiting To Receive The Remaining 175 Units Of Honda Civic 1.8
Bukit Aman Community Crime and Community Prevention (JPJKK) director, Datuk Zainal Abidin Kasim disclosed that the Royal Malaysia Police is still waiting for the remaining 175 Honda Civic 1.8 patrol cars that was supposed to receive last year.
Zainal said that the 175 cars were part of the new 425 patrol cars replacement units announced by the previous government, as the existing patrol car was obsolete and unsafe to use.
“We hoped the government could speed up the receiving process of these new patrol car and the replacement of more than 800 patrol cars. We hope that the 800 over patrol cars can be replaced with the Honda Civic 1.8 as soon as possible,” said Zainal.
On top of that, the Royal Malaysia Police will be receiving 197 Proton X70 1.8 to replace its existing patrol cars.
"With regard to this, we had test driven the Proton X70 in Muar, Johor, we find it suitable for the head of the department of non-patrol units," added Zainal.
To recap, in June last year, the Home Ministry in a statement reportedly said that the Royal Malaysia Police would receive 425 car patrol cars of the Honda Civic 1.8 model for patrol tasks in stages until this July.
