The Long Awaited Nissan Navara Has Finally Arrived!

In our last article about the Nissan Navara, we touched on the possible specifications of the long-awaited vehicle and speculations of its arrival here. The wait is finally over as Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn. Bhd. (ETCM) has finally revealed the full line-up of the 2021 Nissan Navara in a launch earlier today.
The all-new Nissan Navara will be available in six variants - the Single Cab Manual, SE Manual, SE Auto, V Auto, VL Auto and the range-topping PRO-4X. ETCM has also revealed the prices of the six variants of the Nissan Navara, as of below:

Note that prices are on-the-road price with sales tax excluding insurance and Tyre Sales Tax in Sarawak. A 5-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty comes as standard for all its variants.
Generally, the exterior receives an upgrade with it’s Titan-like “interlocking” grille at the front, taller bonnet compared to its predecessor. Similarly, the rear bed gets a height increase as well, and an integrated step is now fitted below the tailgate with the “NAVARA” wording for convenience. Interior-wise, one major feature that’s obvious is the new three-spoke steering wheel from the recent Serena.
Two different types of engine output is offered namely the High Output and Medium Output, with the High Output fitted to the PRO-4X Auto, VL Auto, V Auto and SE Auto, while the SE Manual and Single Cab Manual gets the Medium Output. A major difference being the transmission fitted, with the High Output receiving a 7-speed Auto Transmission with Manual Mode while the Medium Output is fitted with a 6-speed Manual Transmission. With a YD25 In-Line Four-cylinder DOHC Intercooler Turbo-diesel engine, both of these outputs produce 187 hp at 3,600 rpm and 450 Nm at 2,000 rpm as well as 160 hp at 3,600 rpm and 403 Nm at 2,000 respectively.
Excluding the Single Cab Manual, all the variants will be fitted with new Rear Multilink Suspension with Dual-Rate Coil Springs, Electronic Locking Rear Differential system, Tailgate Assist, Integrated Rear Bumper Step, noise isolation Acoustic laminated glass, Vehicle Dynamic Control, Traction Control System, Active Brake Limited Slip Differential, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Brake Distribution and Brake Assist. The advanced driver assistance feature, Nissan Intelligent Mobility will only be available on the PRO-4X Auto, VL Auto and V variant.
Comparing the variants, the Single Cab Manual or known as the ‘Workforce Variant’ includes an unpainted grille, halogen headlamps, 16-inch steel wheels, standard monochrome instrument cluster, steering wheel controls, two-DIN head unit with Bluetooth, a USB port, vinyl seats, manual air-conditioning, two airbags, two reverse sensors as well as Immobilizer.
Moving on to the SE Auto and Manual, additional features include a chromed grille with “NAVARA” wording, power-folding side mirrors with indicators, chrome door handles, 17-inch alloy wheels, black-painted side steps, Nissan’s Zero-Gravity inspired semi-bucket front seats, black seats upholstery, four USB ports including one USB-C port, rear air vents and Isofix child seat anchors.
The V Auto adds on LED headlamps, fog lamps and tail lamps, keyless entry and start, cruise control, 7-inch multi-info display, 8-inch touchscreen Display Audio system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto support, six speakers, dual-zone automatic air-conditioning with rear vents, six airbags, Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Driver Alert Warning and Forward Collision Warning.
On the other hand, the VL Auto received silver-painted roof rails, 18-inch two-tone machined alloy wheels, leather upholstery with hexagonal pattern and silver stitching, automatic wipers, Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection and Off-Road mode, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, High Beam Assist, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System as well as four reverse sensors.
Finally, the flagship off-road variant PRO-4X Auto is fitted with an array of black-painted upgrades including an “interlock” grille, 17-inch PRO-4X-specific alloy wheels, front and rear Nissan emblem, roof rails, door mirrors, door handles, side steps, fender flares with orange accents as well as a front bumper with orange accents.
The range-topper also receives the new Utili-Track Channel system, which consists of four heavy-duty forged aluminum cleats alongside two channels. As for the interior, the PRO-4X also includes an exclusive Nissan’s Zero Gravity-inspired semi-bucket front seats with PRO-4X logo and orange-accent stitching along with a 6-way manual adjustable seat.
A list of exclusive factory fitted accessories are available with customization fitted for each variant, which includes a 3-year or 100,000 km warranty. For the Single Cab Manual, the Under Protector Package is available for RM3,200 which includes an oil sump guard, fuel tank guard and side step. The Premium Package is available for both SE variants as well as the V Auto, which adds on a chrome sport bar and V-Kool security tinting film with the SE variants receiving a 9-inch Display Audio system while the V Auto gains leather combination seats.
In terms of colour, the Single Cab Manual is only available in Solid White, while both SE variants adds on Brilliant Silver and Black Star to the line-up. Meanwhile, the V and VL variants receive the three options with an additional Burning Red. The PRO-4X comes in Black Star, Burning Red and two exclusive colours namely Stealth Grey and Pearl White, the latter with a surcharge of RM1,300.
Comparing to its pre-facelift predecessor, the 2018 Navara includes a downsized 16-inch alloy wheels along with Brake Assist System, Vehicle Dynamic Control, Hill Start Assist and Anti-Lock braking system to name a few. Meanwhile, the 2021 Navara features the addition of upsized 17-inch wheels, an 8-inch infotainment display, 360-degree camera, improved sound insulation. In terms of safety. Alongside the safety system mentioned for the pre-facelift model, the 2021 Navara adds on Lane Departure Warning as well as Blind Spot Monitoring.
