Top 10 Spectacular Machines At the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show
The 2021 Shanghai Auto Show, an automotive exhibition in China have recently seen both local and foreign automakers showcasing vast line-ups of their incredible machines.
Throughout the whole expo, there were some interesting vehicles that Caricarz found to be noteworthy. Therefore, we have narrowed down the top 10 best cars at the exhibition for your pleasure.
At the top of the list is Ford with their all-new crossover, the Ford Evos. It can be seen with a silhouette that shares the same roofline as the company’s sporty Mustang Mach-E.

Besides that, it also shares the Mach-E’s Blue Oval's hands-free driving tech BlueCruise and its Fully Networked Vehicle E/E architecture which allows over the air updates.

Moving inside, it has been equipped with a huge 43-inch horizontal display with two screens, one for the instrument cluster and another for infotainment. The latter is a 27-inch touchscreen display that supports 4K resolution.
Even though proper details of the vehicle are still unknown but it is expected to sport a powertrain of hybrid nature.
Second on the list is from the Lincoln automaker with their Lincoln Zephyr Reflection. Thus far, it is only a concept vehicle, though, the company claims that it will start the production of this model soon and will be made available for the China market later this year.

Since it’s still a concept, proper details are still unknown. However, in terms of the designing, the Zephyr can be seen with an exterior that is very aerodynamic. Inside, an interior screen stretched across the dash is called ‘coast-to-coast’ and Lincoln calls the cabin design philosophy 'Quiet Flight’.
Coming in third is Volkswagen with their VW ID.6. Sizing wise, it slots in just under the Atlas SUV which is a seven-seater vehicle with off-roading specifications.

Upon launching, there will be two versions made available for the China market. One is the ID.6 Crozz, which will be manufactured up north of the country and second the ID.6 X, which will be manufactured down south.

Performance wise, both of the ID.6 versions will be seeing either a 58 kWh or 77 kWh battery and will also be managing an output of about 300 hp.
One upping that is from the Japanese automaker, the Toyota bZ4X Concept. Looking at the name, the first half of the alphanumerical script stands for ‘beyond Zero’, in which it is meant to represent the company’s future electrification strategy.

Details of the bZ4X Concept’s drivetrain are not listed as of yet, however, the company claims that the range of the vehicle will be ‘competitive’, even with standard AWD. Plus, extra range will also be collected from its roof-mounted solar panel.

Apart from that, it will also be featuring the new steer-by-wire system, which can produce a ratio tight enough so that no hand shuffling is necessary.
Number five on the list comes from Opel with their Manta Gse ElektroMOD. Currently, proper specifications are to be affirmed seeing as it's just a render, but the company is claiming it to be ‘Simply electrifying’ and a ‘Genuine Opel’.

However, at the exhibition, the Opel Manta GSe ElektroMOD can be seen with a front outlook featuring one big LED display which Opel dubs the ‘PIXEL VIZOR’.

On that note, albeit sharing a similar lighting signature with a few other modern Opels, it adds a dash of its own touch with the full-width, animated LED display design.
Next is Zeekr, a new brand from the Chinese automaker, Geely. A premium electrified brand and its first flagship vehicle, the Zeekr 001 was officially unveiled on April 15 and unlike the other vehicles presented at the Shanghai Auto Show, it's not an aluminized, bulbous-shaped SUV.

The all-new Zeekr 001 is powered by motors on the front and rear axle, which produces an output of 536 hp. The power is transmitted from two battery options, an 86 kWh battery and a 100 kWh battery, which the latter is able to manage a range of 435 miles.

Acceleration of the Zeekr 001 from 0-100 km/h is around 3.8 seconds. It is riding on a set of adjustable air suspensions that enables the vehicle to have great off-road capabilities as it’s able to raise and lower the vehicle as much as 3.6 inches.
Following next on the list is Honda, another Japanese automaker with their Honda SUV e-prototype. The company has designed a new electric SUV prototype in an attempt to broaden its horizons, in this case it's a whole new vehicle that's more similar to their HR-V.

Full details are yet to be disclosed, however, Honda is only offering it to the China market for now and will set to go on sale sometime around 2022.
Eighth, the Ora Punk Cat from the company Ora. A new brand initially unveiled in 2018 as a subsidiary of Great Wall Motors, one of China's largest automakers.

It is an upbeat-looking Chinese Beetle clone with an overall sleek and simple design. The Ora Punk Cat truly embodies the classic VW Beetle with its exterior but offers a modern touch with its interior and performance.

Specifications of the vehicle are limited, but it is expected that the production model will hit the streets of China sometime this year and of course the company from China will be offering it in an electric version.
Ranking up at number nine is the Luxury sedan from China’s Evergrande, the Hengchi 1. The electric luxury sedan is targeted for mass-production and will start its delivery next year.

Sporting a total driving range of 760 km per charge, it puts itself in the same league as Mercedes-Benz's new luxury EQS EV.
Rounding up the list at number 10 is from a joint Chinese and UK owned company, SAIC MG with their Cyberster. It is an electric roadster concept that is sporting an overall design that is way ahead of its time by boasting exterior looks similar to cars out of the ‘Hotwheels’ collection.

Other than that, with it being a roadster it occupies only two seats and the Zero Gravity seats installed also come with floating head restraints for extra comfort.
All in all, many of the automakers around the world are either currently producing spectacular cars or going to in the future. So far, what we have witnessed at the Shanghai Auto show is just the tip of the iceberg and it has already given all the car enthusiasts out there something to get excited about.
